The Elephant Rehabilitation and Rescue Centre (ERRC) in Tiruchirapalli is located at Marama Reddy Palayam, also known as MR Palayam, a reserve forest on the Trichy-Chennai route 35 kilometres from the city.
The elephants who are housed in the ERRC at MR Palayam are given the best medical care possible in a natural setting. The centre sits approximately a kilometre from the highway, in the middle of the forest.
