Childline is really important because it helps kids who are having a hard time. If they’re being hurt , bullied or just feeling really sad , Childline is a safe place for them to talk about it. Kids might be scared to tell someone they trust , so Childline lets them stay anonymous and keeps everything they say private. By listening and giving advice, Childline makes sure kids get the help they need early on. It’s like having a friend to talk to when things are tough, and it helps keep kids happy and safe.
WHAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF CHILDLINE :
The main purpose of childline is to provide support, protection, and guidance to children in need. It aims to ensure the well-being and safety of children by offering them a helpline they can call for assistance, advice, and intervention in cases of abuse, neglect, or any other form of distress. Childline also works to empower children, advocate for their rights, and collaborate with various stakeholders to create a safer environment for all children. We use our four Cs model -Connect, Catalyze, collaborate and communicate- to help more and more children every year.

Childline is for those who Runaways, Child Health, Addiction, Child Marriage, Homeless, Child Labour, Abuse and Violence, Sexual Abuse, and Child Trafficking. Childline works to raise awareness about child rights, advocate for children’s needs, and collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and communities to create a safer and more supportive environment for children across the country.
CHILDLINE INFORMATION :
Any child or a concerned adult can dial the CHILDLINE 1098 Helpline , which operates night and day. 90 Million calls handled. 7 Million calls Annually, 573 Districts covered ( till October, 2022) and 138 Child Help Desks at Railway Stations.
HOW DOES CHILDLINE WORK :
Childline works like if a kid needs help , they can call, text, or chat online. There are trained adults who listen and talk to the kids about what’s bothering them. Childline helps kids figure out what to do next like talking to someone they trust or getting help from the police if they’re in danger. It is all about making sure kids feel safe and supported when they need it most.
